2012 Honda Civic

Now at Schomp Honda - the 2012 Honda Civic!

The 2012 Civic is a totally new design this year.  They changed the exterior and interior styling.  One thing that stayed the same was the bullet-proof 1.8L 4 cylinder engine.  It has 140hp to help zip around town and gets almost 40 mpg.  Something new that was added this year is Eco Assist.  Eco Assist is a mode that can be selected by a push of a button on the dash.  When in Econ Mode the Civic will get even better mpg by switching some of the power wasting systems like the HVAC and throttle response into a more efficient mode.

The new intelligent multi information display (i-MID) is by far the coolest new feature on the new Civic. It is an LCD screen on the top of the dash in near the drivers line of sight that displays trip/fuel info, audio, Bluetooth, and navigation info. With the trip/fuel info it will show average mpg, miles until the tank is empty, trip A/B, odometer, maintenance reminders, and outside temperature. On the audio side of it will display radio stations and cd track info. If you plug your IPod into the USB interface it will display all of your artist and playlist information as well as album art. If you get navigation the i-MID will display turn by turn directions, which is much easier to look at while you are driving then the typical navigation system. The IMID will allow you to personalize your display options and will also support personal pictures that you can download use as a screen saver on the i-MID.

The Civic is also a very safe car with Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) standard on all trims this year. The VSA will lower engine speed and apply braking power to which ever wheel will keep you going on your intended path. The Civic also has a total of six airbags including front and side airbags for the front passengers as well as side curtain airbags that go from front to back to protect all of the passengers in the car.

Another awesome thing about the Civic just like every Honda the cost of ownership is super low. When it comes time to sell or trade it in they have the best resale value in the industry.

The 2012 Honda Civic was named Highest Rank Compact Car in Initial Quality by J.D. Power and Associates

The Honda Civic is J.D. Power and Associates' "Highest Ranked Compact Car in Initial Quality in a Tie" with the Honda Insight in their 2011 Initial Quality Study SM (IQS)(tied with the Honda Insight). The all-new Civic HF and the Civic Hybrid - each delivering fuel economy estimates of more than 40 mpg on the highway.

Built on the tradition of Honda fuel efficiency, the economical Civic HF model will be the most fuel-efficient gasoline-only powered Civic in the lineup when it launched this spring. Both the Civic HF and Civic Hybrid models will be equipped with aerodynamic components for improved efficiency and Honda ECO Assist™ technology, an innovation that can enhance efficient vehicle operation while providing feedback to promote more efficient individual driving styles.

The Civic is the only model in the industry that can deliver on all fronts "fuel economy, sporty performance, smart packaging, alternative fuel and long-term value," said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales for American Honda Motor Co.,Inc.
